For the 24th year, we are happy to provide an EDUCATIONAL, ATHLETIC and ENTERTAINING summer camp in a complete French immersion setting.
In the past 23 years the KW French summer Climbing Camp received over 3150 campers, age 6 to 12, coming from the Waterloo Region, Wellington Region, Metropolitan Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, France, Italy, England and USA and as far away as China and Japan.
The purpose of our camp is to have our participants immersed in the French language, in a setting other than a regular school. Our camp creates a link between the end of June and back to school in September.
In spite of the fact that a majority of our campers go to a French immersion school, Extended French schools or totally French schools, children are not expected to have a good command of the language to attend. It's a bonus if they do!
Our campers will have an opportunity to learn new vocabulary pertaining to climbing, as well as outdoor games and sports as well as indoors arts, crafts and games.
We offer indoor rock climbing (top roping, bouldering and auto belay routes) at GRAND RIVER ROCKS (GRR).
Our afternoons are spent at a local city park named Breithaupt Park (and Breithaupt Center where we swim Wednesday afternoon) 15 minutes walking from the climbing gym. Upon arrival we enjoy our picnic at lunch time under large trees.
A short quiet time follow where campers can look at French magazines or books from our camp collection.
We then practice various outdoor sports including soccer, capture the flag and various outdoor collective French games, circle words games with different themes, as well as circle songs all en français!
All our activities are under tight supervision. Our ratio is 1 staff to 3/4 campers.
All staff is certified in Standard First Aid and CPR-C/AED. Our staff is top roping belaying, and/or auto belaying and bouldering certified for rock climbing.
Adults camp staff have their police Criminal Record Check cleared.
IMPORTANT NOTE: In case of heavy rain we will be running our afternoon activities at GRR where we have a special room for our camp. Pick up will then be at GRR instead of Breithaupt Park.

Week 3: July 20-24, 2026
Week 4: July 27-31, 2026
Week 5: August 3-7, 2026 (including Civic Day)
If the camp or session is full you can be placed on a waiting list and /or in our 2026 camp Priority mailing list 2027. Please send your request.
REGISTRATION will be starting JANUARY 23, 2026. First come first serve.

Camp fee: $375 per week per camper (no added tax)

Our camp takes place at Grand River Rocks (GRR) in Kitchener, located
264 Victoria St N., at the corner of Victoria St, and St. Leger St.
DROP OFF: Grand River Rocks every day.
PICK UP: Breithaupt Park every day, located 350 Margaret Ave. in Kitchener, in the large field behind the Breithaupt Center (where we go for a swim Wednesday afternoon).

CAMP HOURS
Our camp opens at 8:30 a.m. for your convenience at no xtra charge.
Our activities start at 9:00 a.m. sharp.
Our activities end at 5:00 p.m.
Our Camp closes at 5:30 p.m. for your convenience at no xtra charge.
Drop off between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. at GRR.
Pick up between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. at Breithaupt Park.
